there WAS a factory, but now...

(Nothing But) Flowers
talking heads

Here we stand
Like an Adam and an Eve
Waterfalls
The Garden of Eden
Two fools in love
So beautiful and strong
The birds in the trees
Are smiling upon them
From the age of the dinosaurs
Cars have run on gasoline
Where, where have they gone?
Now, it's nothing but flowers

There was a factory
Now there are mountains and rivers
you got it, you got it

We caught a rattlesnake
Now we got something for dinner
we got it, we got it

There was a shopping mall
Now it's all covered with flowers
you've got it, you've got it

If this is paradise
I wish I had a lawnmower
you've got it, you've got it

Years ago
I was an angry young man
I'd pretend
That I was a billboard
Standing tall
By the side of the road
I fell in love
With a beautiful highway
This used to be real estate
Now it's only fields and trees
Where, where is the town
Now, it's nothing but flowers
The highways and cars
Were sacrificed for agriculture
I thought that we'd start over
But I guess I was wrong

Once there were parking lots
Now it's a peaceful oasis
you got it, you got it

This was a Pizza Hut
Now it's all covered with daisies
you got it, you got it

I miss the honky tonks,
Dairy Queens, and 7-Elevens
you got it, you got it

And as things fell apart
Nobody paid much attention
you got it, you got it

I dream of cherry pies,
Candy bars, and chocolate chip cookies
you got it, you got it

We used to microwave
Now we just eat nuts and berries
you got it, you got it

This was a discount store,
Now it's turned into a cornfield
you got it, you got it

Don't leave me stranded here
I can't get used to this lifestyle

fear factory

Nobody Tole Me
by John Lennon

Everybody's talking and no one says a word

Everybody's making love and no one really cares

There's nazis in the bathroom just below the stairs.
Always something happening and nothing going on

There's always something happening cooking and nothing in the pot

They're starving back in China so finish what you got.
They're starving back in China so finish what you got.
Nobody told me there'd be days like these

Nobody told me there'd be days like these

Nobody told me there'd be days like these

Strange days indeed
strange days indeed.
Everybody's runnin' and no one makes a move

Everyone's a winner
and no one seems to lose.
There's a little yellow idol to the north of Katmandu.
Everybody's flying and no one leaves the ground

Everybody's crying and no one makes a sound.
There's a place for us in movies you just gotta stay around.

Nobody told me there'd be days like these

Nobody told me there'd be days like these

Nobody told me there'd be days like these

Strange days indeed
most peculiar
Mama.
Everybody's smoking and no one's getting high

Everybody's flying and never touch the sky

There's Ufo's over New York and I ain't too surprised.
Nobody told me there'd be days like these

Nobody told me there'd be days like these

Nobody told me there'd be days like these

Strange days indeed
most peculiar. Mama.

Doin' That Rag
the Grateful Dead

Da da da da da da da da da da da

Sittin in Mangrove valley chasing light beams
Everything wanders from baby to Z
Baby Baby pretty it up on Tuesday Old like a rum-drinking demon at tea.
Baby Baby tell me what's the matter, what, what tell me what's your why how?
Tell me why will you never come home
Tell me what's your reason, if you've got a good one.

Everywhere I go, the people all know Everyone's doin' that rag.
Everywhere I go, the people all know Everyone's doin' that rag.

Take my line, go fishin' for a Tuesday,
Maybe take my supper, eat it down by the sea.
Gave my baby twenty or forty good reasons,
Couldn't find any better ones in the morning at three.

The rain gonna come, but the rain gonna go y'know.
Steppin' off sharply from the rank and file.
Awful cold and dark like a dungeon
Maybe get a little bit darker before the day.

Hipsters, Tripsters, real cool chicksters, Everyone's doin' that rag.
Hipsters, Tripsters, true cool chicksters, Everyone's doin' that rag.

You needn't gild the lily, offer jewels to the sunset.
No one is watchin' or standin' in your shoes.
Wash your lonely feet in the river in the morning,
Everything promised is delivered to you.

Don't neglect to pick up what your share is,
All the winter birds are winging home now.
Hey love go, and look around you,
Nothing out there you haven't seen before now.

Wading in the water you never get wet,
If you keep on doin' that rag.
Wading in the water and you never get wet,
If you keep on doin' that rag.

One eyed jacks and the deuces are wild
And the aces are crawlin' up and down your sleeve.
Come back here baby Louise
And tell me the name of the game that you play.

Is it All Fall Down? Is it All Go Under?
Is it All Fall Down? Is it All Go Under?
Is it All Fall Down? Is it All Go Under?
Is it All Fall Down? Is it All Go Under?
Is it All Fall Down? Is it All Go Under?
Is it All Fall Down? Is it All Go Under?
Is it All Fall Down? Is it All Go Under?
Is it All Fall Down? Is it All Go Under?
Is it All Fall Down? Is it All Go Under?

...Just got back from Denver. A very well rounded road trip. Planned just enough, things worked out a little bit better than just enough, thoughts were clean and pure, saw old friends, had synergetic experiences throughout, saw beautiful beautiful country, did it all safely and made it back for work. Saw two shows, both unique in that the Fillmore was a gathering of friends and the second show was with Lance and Uncle Jim at the base of Copper Ski Mountain during the day. Great great stuff, thank you holy spirit for this adventure. You filled it up yet again.

I feel as if I walked up on top of a large hill this weekend and got a good look around me for the first time since I started working at Deer Valley, since I started going on top of a mountain everyday literally. The experience has been great but the season is coming to an end and it’s easy to burn out when you’re a lift operator. There’s only so much mirth one can muster up for so little, and now that the snow isn’t that great there’s even less of an incentive. I live the bonus driven life and spring is my next bonus, so for now I’m rich rich man…

naive as a defense

Prompts!

Where go I get the gumption to break out of this thing again? Its clearly time but I can’t seem to escape myself and all my clinging to lesser pleasures. But not to the lessest of pleasures by any means, so I do pretty well all things considered, but I’m still praying for salvation like the rest of us. Most of us. What most of us used to do. Where do you live? What do you do?
It’s so silly the way we try to capture the infiniteness of things in the finite pathetic humor of represented words. Sounds maybe, but words, especially written, are traps at best. Not at best, there I go trapping myself again, prompts would be the ideal use for words. Words are prompts, certain words are certain types of prompts.
We crashed I burned but then I learned to keep my eyes on you. Haha the way they pull it all together. Ain’t that the way we pull it all together? The sipper locking clasping teeth of this life we lead in this trembling freedom of uncertainty and doubt and half steps and whole steps an over steps. I need to just lay it all out I suppose. What’s the appealing factor?

“Mini motifs of invisible love
Flow into me baby flow into me”

That’s a nice color.

Isn’t it crazy god seems to talk to the atheists the most?

osmosis!

Life’s so easy to blur when you’re always busy. It seems to be we go through phases of yin and yang, aggressive undertakings and then reflective solace. Somewhere in between these two I always find myself treading, but trying to tread as lightly and with as little movement as possible. I don’t tread lightly for others though, it’s just that I find it easy to dissolve when I’m still.

boogie

It’s an amazing thing to lose yourself daily. To make a living out of losing yourself . That can be done right? It’s not impossible to live a life losing yourself to find yourself right? I’ve met enough who think it’s true I’ve got no reason to doubt myself. Haha it’s so funny the way things work out for people who never expect it. I expected it though. I expected it for you. Doesn’t it feel good to get something expected for you?
